SCHOOLS and community groups across Keighley are being invited to apply for free tree packs.
The Woodland Trust is once again giving away packs to grow a variety of species.
Plantings could be to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year, to help tackle climate change or simply to improve an area.
Packs ordered now will be distributed in November.
In the last round of the scheme – in the spring – uptake was high, with more than 140 schools and organisations in West Yorkshire successfully applying.
Vicki Baddeley, for the Woodland Trust, said: “We’re always amazed by the appetite schools and communities have for tree planting. It is such a wonderful thing to do. It is a positive, life-affirming action that people can take to mark momentous occasions like the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, to help tackle the climate and nature crises, or to make their local areas a bit greener.”
