FIREFIGHTERS tackled a grass fire at a Keighley quarry site yesterday evening.
A specialist wildfire unit based at the town's fire station was used to tackle the blaze, off Glen Lee Lane.
The alarm was raised by a local resident at about 5.30pm.
"The site is quite inaccessible but with the wildfire unit – a Land Rover – we were able to get close to the fire and put water on it," said watch manager Ahsan Ali, of Keighley fire station.
The cause of the fire, which covered an area of around 20 square metres, is unknown.
Firefighters spent about an-hour-and-a-half at the scene.
