MONTHLY soul music nights are restarting in Keighley.

The events were last held at Central Hall several years ago.

Now they are being relaunched, from Saturday, July 31, at the civic centre in North Street – and will continue until Christmas.

The event is from 8pm until 1.30am, with a bar extension until 1am.

Admission will be £3.

“We had originally planned to reopen on July 10 but due to the continued Covid restrictions had to put our plans on hold,” said spokesperson David Shackleton.

“This will be a ‘back to basics’ event with classic club soul and Tamla Motown from the 1960s and 70s.

“We have Keighley’s own Garry Chatburn making a guest appearance, playing music he and Graham Slater played at the Keighley venues back in the day!

“The civic centre is an excellent venue, has a great dance floor and is equipped with disabled facilities including a door entry ramp and lift up to the first-floor function room.

“We’re delighted to be restarting after several years away.”

Future dates include an ‘all-day’ bank holiday weekend event on Sunday, August 29, 3pm to 10.30pm; then Saturdays September 11, October 9, November 13 and December 18.
