HELP is on offer to people across the district struggling with their electricity bills.

Northern Powergrid has partnered with Government-sponsored MoneyHelper to provide advice.

The company says that whilst its network-related charges on customers’ bills have remained unchanged, it is aware that many householders have had to use more electricity since the start of the pandemic and their personal circumstances may have changed.

As part of the new partnership, customers can access free and independent support services.

Catherine Harris, for Northern Powergrid, said: “Throughout the pandemic we have continued to power people’s lives – but we know that being a force for good also goes beyond our network of power lines and underground cables.

“We hope this partnership will help people when they need it most. By accessing MoneyHelper services our customers can get vital support from expert advisors who can assist them to understand their financial situation, create a personalised budget and draw-up a practical action plan. We are also directly sharing details of the partnership with more than 300,000 of our customers who are part of our free priority services membership.”
