KEIGHLEY-born Alastair Campbell returned to the area to give a talk on his struggles with depression and mental health.
He was guest speaker at an event, organised by Airedale Enterprise Services and sponsored by WAVE Refrigeration, at Steeton Hall Hotel. More than 50 people attended.
The event also promoted Missing Peace Wellbeing & Support, a locally-based volunteer-led organisation which meets face-to-face and online with people seeking help.
Before the talk, Mr Campbell and organisers took part in a wellbeing walk and tai chi at Cliffe Castle – led by Val Preston, of Cliffe Castle Support Group.
Wendy Spencer, from Airedale Enterprise Services, said: “It was a lovely way to start the day and the wellbeing walk was truly wonderful.
“The evening event was very well attended and I hope that everyone listening found it truly inspirational.”
Mr Campbell also signed copies of his book Living Better: How I Learned to Survive Depression, with donations from sales that evening going to Missing Peace Wellbeing & Support.
