NEW mobile equipment is being deployed in a bid to curb speeding in the Fell Lane area of Keighley.
The so-called Speed Indication Device will be used across the Fell Lane and Westburn town council ward.
Town mayor Julie Adams, fellow councillor Joshua Clarkson and former council member Philip Shaw allocated ward development funding in 2019 to acquire the device.
Cllr Adams said: “We were hearing numerous complaints from residents regarding vehicles speeding up and down Fell Lane.
“Although the Speed Indication Device can’t be used for enforcement purposes, it reminds drivers of the speed limit and stands out from regular road signs.”
An agreement has been reached with Bradford Council regarding maintenance of the equipment.
Highways staff will visit deployment sites monthly to relocate the device to agreed spots.
The team will also download data, which will then be analysed and presented to the town council.
