WE are volunteers with the Friends of Airedale Hospital.

We were not allowed in the hospital during the Covid outbreak, so we have only returned to duty a couple of months ago.

In that time we have received a few donations, one of which – some comfort packs for patients – appeared in our room like magic!

I didn’t know where it had come from or who to thank until reading the October 28 Keighley News – and there it was, on page seven!

May I thank the shopkeepers of Haworth through your paper for the comfort packs, which Jodie Hearnshaw from Airedale Hospital & Community Charity has passed on to us.

The Friends are separate from the Airedale Hospital charity. We are run by volunteers so most of us haven’t been able to work for the past year or more and any fundraising has been on hold, and continues to be so, therefore money is in very short supply.

We have been thankful for some of our suppliers donating clothes for those of our patients who are in need.
