THERE'S a buzz in the air about a society's next meeting.

Catherine Mercer, from the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, is giving a talk to Glusburn and Cross Hills Gardening Society on the Bee Together project.

A society spokesperson said: "The project aims to raise awareness about supporting pollinators across both town and countryside and what pollinators need to survive and thrive."

The meeting takes place at Glusburn Community and Arts Centre, in Colne Road, on January 21, at 7.30pm.

Anyone is welcome.

The society's March meeting will feature a talk – Right Plant, Right Place – by Sarah Hopps.

It is at the same venue, on Friday, March 4, at 7.30pm.

The spokesperson said: "Sarah is an enthusiastic plantswoman and broadcaster who enjoys sharing her knowledge. She will recommend the best plants for every corner of your garden.

"Flowering plants, trees, hedging, perennials and more – Sarah will share her experience of careful research, planning, planting and care."

Admission fees are £3 for members and £4 for non-members, including refreshments. Membership for a programme of eight meetings costs £5.
