HAWORTH and Worth Valley Rotarians have launched a final push as a charity fundraising appeal reaches its climax.

Club president Gary Gardner's appeal in aid of Martin House children's hospice, at Boston Spa, finishes at the end of this month.

The total raised currently stands at almost £2,500.

But Mr Gardner hopes to hit £3,000 by the close.

He said: "I am passionate about helping Martin House at this difficult time, as it needs every penny it can get.

"Our appeal has been well supported but, ideally, we would like to raise a bit more money to push the total up to the £3,000 mark.

"So if anyone wants to donate to help us achieve that target, you can log onto our Global Giving page at tinyurl.com/martinhousehospice and make a payment with your credit or debit card. It’s really that simple!

"Every penny counts at Martin House Hospice, whose service delivery covers most areas in Yorkshire. For example, a donation of £7 can pay for a 15-minute telephone call with a care specialist for a family.

"So please help this wonderful charity to provide the love and care to families who need specialist help at end-of-life situations for their children."
