THE latest in a series of new benches being installed across the Keighley area is now in place.

As part of the Seat with a View project, commissioned by Keighley Town Council's community development committee, members of the public were invited to suggest locations for the benches.

Several seats are already in situ, and now another has been put in position – at a layby as you enter Laycock.

Ward town councillor, John Kirby, said: "I'm pleased to see a bench placed in such a scenic location, to be enjoyed by all.

"I'd like to extend thanks to @Lions Den, which refurbished and installed the bench."

Seats are being replaced in Town Hall Square and recycled as part of the scheme, aligning with the town council’s climate change action plan.

Work began in 2020 on replacing 15 benches in the square, with seats made from 100 per cent recycled materials.
