A GROWING Keighley company has appointed a new managing director as it continues with an investment programme.

David Gannon has taken over the role at Cavalier Bathrooms, based at Riverside Business Park in Royd Ings Avenue.

He succeeds Rob Harrison, who will become company chair.

Mr Gannon, who has 35 years' experience in the bathroom industry, said: "I am thrilled to be moving into the managing director position, having worked alongside Rob for three years.

"He has done a fantastic job in leading and innovating the company.

"We've had great success in increasing our manufacturing capabilities at our Keighley factory and plan to build on this, enabling us to be more self-sufficient and less reliant on importing."

He said that as part of its strategic growth strategy, the firm was continuing to explore ways of better serving its customers and partnering with suppliers.

Mr Gannon added: "It's time for us to truly embed our values into the business and demonstrate why we’re market-leading on both specification and value. Going forward, we’ll be placing even greater importance on innovation and creating ways to make our customers’ lives easier. It’s about the experience, not just the end product."

Cavalier Bathrooms specialises in a wide range of products, from shower enclosures and wet rooms to brassware and furniture.

Last year it acquired Tre Mercati, a family-run business established in 1977, enabling Cavalier to enter new markets with an increased range of brassware for kitchens and bathrooms.

Mr Harrison, who has been with Cavalier Bathrooms for 30 years, said: "It’s a really exciting time for us here at Cavalier and I’ve every faith that David will take the business to the next level.

"The team and our customers are in great hands with David’s expertise and encouragement and I’m looking forward to watching the business go from strength to strength under his guidance."

Mr Gannon added that the firm has "great plans" for the next 12 months.

He said: "I’m proud to be continuing to cement Cavalier Bathrooms as the umbrella brand behind market-leading names such as Aquadart, April, Elation and Niagara, as well as delivering a service that delights our customers at every touch point.

"With a workforce as committed and hard-working as we have here, I’m excited to see what the future holds."

Cavalier Bathrooms, whose history goes back over a century, says it is passionate about preserving manufacturing in the UK.
