KEIGHLEY'S RAF air cadet squadron is flying high.

Numbers dropped during lockdown, but recruitment following the resumption of face-to-face meetings at the Drill Hall has seen the total rise to 30.

And the squadron's latest cohort of new cadets was enrolled by chaplain, the Rev Canon Mike Cansdale, and commanding officer Flight Lieutenant Paul Crabtree.

There were also several promotions.

Flight Lieutenant Crabtree said: "It is really pleasing to see the squadron going from strength to strength and the amount of enthusiasm, amongst both our cadets and staff, for what we can offer."

Young people aged between 12 and 17 can become a cadet, and adult volunteers over 20 are also welcome. No military experience is needed.
