A KEIGHLEY-based food packaging specialist has invested a further £2 million in new technology.
PFF Group, whose head office is in Royd Ings Avenue, has installed a groundbreaking so-called thermoforming system at its Sedgefield site.
The equipment – developed in partnership with German manufacturer Illig Gmbh – will be used to produce PFF’s fully-recyclable packaging concept, IMPAC-T.
PFF chief executive officer, Andy Bairstow, said: "IMPAC-T is a technological breakthrough for the manufacture of food-grade packaging in the UK. It’s been fantastic to see both companies work closely together."
Matthew Revels, sales and marketing manager at Illig, said: "We took on this exciting development project with PFF nearly two years ago and now we have the pleasure of consigning this new technology to the UK market."
