SILSDEN-based Ecology Building Society has appointed a new chief executive.
Gareth Griffiths will take-up his appointment in June, subject to regulatory approval.
He succeeds Paul Ellis, who is stepping down after more than 40 years with the building society – which last year saw its total assets exceed £250 million.
"It is an honour to be joining Ecology Building Society," said Mr Griffiths, who is currently the head of retail banking at Triodos Bank.
"The society was founded to make better use of natural resources and reverse environmental degradation. Forty years on, Ecology’s mission has never been more relevant – with the need to address the climate crisis and deepening financial inequalities and transform the UK’s housing stock at the heart of the sustainability challenge."
