YOUNG 'parliamentarians' have quizzed Keighley's MP on a wide range of issues.

Robbie Moore faced questions on topics including the environment, youth employment and the situation in Ukraine when he visited Riddlesden St Mary's Primary School and met members of its student parliament.

He also spoke about his role and how democracy works, both locally and nationally.

"Engaging with our young people is incredibly important and it was fantastic to sit down around the table for a good hour or so to talk with student representatives of Riddlesden St Mary’s," said Mr Moore.

"It is so vital to hear the views of – and represent – everyone in our community, no matter what age.

"We discussed a wide range of topics. It was amazing to see how the work done at the school, including setting-up the student parliament, has given the pupils such a wide grasp of these important issues."
