POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision near Lothersdale yesterday.
The incident happened on West Road with the junction for Lothersdale at around 6.23pm on Tuesday and involved a silver Yamaha Thundercat motorbike and a black Ford Fiesta.
Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle, a 52-year-old man, died at the scene.
The driver of the Fiesta, an 18-year-old man, was not injured and is helping officers with their enquiries.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services worked at the scene. It re-opened at around 1.30am today (Wednesday).
Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw either vehicle before the collision, or anyone who has any dashcam footage is asked to come forward.
