SOUTH Craven people are being invited to have their say on a new flood risk strategy for North Yorkshire.
The draft strategy sets out how the county council will work with communities and relevant organisations to better understand and reduce flooding risks.
Karl Battersby, the county council’s corporate director of business and environmental services, said: "Severe storms are becoming more frequent so we need to plan for that – working with communities and partners to make sure homes, businesses and infrastructure are as well protected as possible."
People can view the draft strategy and submit comments at northyorks.gov.uk/local-flood-risk-strategy-consultation. The consultation closes on Sunday, June 12.
Anyone needing help accessing the strategy document or response form should email floodriskmanagement@northyorks.gov.uk or call Mark Henderson on 01609 780780.
