A NAMEPLATE handover to the Bahamas Locomotive Society – based on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway – had added poignancy.
The plate is the original one from the Jubilee Class locomotive 45606 Falkland Islands.
It will be displayed in the society's museum at Ingrow as part of a new exhibition about the significance of the Jubilee Class names.
And a replica will be made for a mainline rail trip later this year, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Falklands conflict.
The original nameplate has been loaned by the Rail Correspondence and Travel Society.
Keith Whitmore, chair of the Bahamas Locomotive Society, said: "We are delighted to have been loaned this plate, especially at this time during the 40th anniversary of the Falklands conflict."
