MEMBERS of a Denholme youth club have been learning first aid skills.
Youngsters from the Juniors took part in a course presented by GEM Compliance Training Ltd, based in Bingley.
They learned the basics of CPR, how to use a defibrillator, wound care, the recovery position and calling 999, including the kind of information that the call handler would require.
The young people were joined by local police community support officers Rob Parker and Sofia Hussain.
Kelly Robertson – for the club, which operates under the umbrella of Denholme Youth Cafe – said: "The training was provided for free and we are extremely grateful to GEM.
"First aid is an important life-skill for children to have."
Juniors caters for eight-to-12-year-olds. For further information, email denholmeyouthcafe@yahoo.com.
