TIME is running out for Keighley-district groups to seek cash aid in the latest round of the Safer Communities Fund.

Organisations have just until noon next Friday (June 10) to submit their applications for a share of the £270,000 pot.

The Safer Communities Fund – administered by West Yorkshire's mayor, Tracy Brabin – is offering grants of up to £6,000 to projects that address at least one of the priorities within the Police and Crime Plan.

Previous beneficiaries from the fund have included the Good Shepherd Centre, in Keighley.

Ms Brabin said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be running this latest grant funding opportunity for local groups which make such a massive difference in our communities.

"These groups often don't get the recognition they deserve, so this is one way of showing our support and appreciation.

"The fund is financed by money recovered from criminals under the Proceeds of Crime Act within the county by West Yorkshire Police’s economic crime unit and prosecutors. So, a big shout out to them for all that hard work and in ensuring crime doesn’t pay."

A video has been produced with guidance for applicants.
