HAWORTH Riding for the Disabled has spoken of its delight after members picked up accolades in a national championships.
The riders were competing at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire, in the first event for three years.
Group founder Jackie Butterfield said it was a difficult journey due to hot weather, but worth the trip.
"I was so immensely proud of every single one of our riders and horses," she said.
"They were all superb."
The group enjoyed a number of successes.
Jenny Lee, riding Domino, took first place and the championship title in the senior showjumping Level 2 class.
And in junior Level 2 showjumping, Gabby Reed Griffiths was second.
In the junior showing class, Rebecca Harper – who has only been with the group for three months and was taking part in her first championships – was runner-up. And she won the junior countryside challenge, on Ruby Wax.
T Jay Wilson was sixth in the senior showing class.
Championships debutant Martyan Szyfer finished eighth in the junior countryside challenge.
In the senior countryside challenge, Rose Green was third. Lucy Hargreaves on Ruby Wax was withdrawn, due to extreme heat.
Ewan Reed Griffiths was seventh in the senior arts and crafts category.
