HARDEN Beck Horticultural Society is staging its 59th annual show.

The event takes place at the society's showfield – in Long Lane, Harden, next to the Golden Fleece pub – on Sunday, September 11. It will open at 2pm.

There will be a wide range of exhibits – including classes for vegetables, flowers, bakery, handicrafts and photography, plus a children's category with everything from poetry to gingerbread men.

Andy Macdonald, for the society, said: "We have plenty of volunteers all working towards making this year's show special.

"There will be something for everyone, so come along and enjoy a great afternoon."

Attractions will also include brass band music from Hall Royd Band and there will be homemade refreshments, a children's tombola and raffle.

An auction of produce will take place at 4.15pm.

Show schedules can be obtained from businesses in Harden or can be downloaded from the society's website, together with entry forms, at hardenbeckhorticulturalsociety.co.uk.

The website also includes show updates, information about the society and a gardening blog.

In addition, details can be found on Facebook – hbhsharden.

"The society looks forward to receiving people's entries and seeing everyone on show day!" Mr Macdonald added.
