A FAMILY play day is being held at Parkwood.

The event – organised by Parkwood Community Group – takes place at the recreation ground on Wednesday, August 31, between 11am and 2pm.

Attractions will include stalls, henna, food, music, forest schools, inflatables and games.

And young residents are running activities including hook-a-duck, glitter tattoos, a tombola and tuck shop.

Claire Denby, chair of Parkwood Community Group, says: "We can't wait to see everyone come together and enjoy themselves.

"Due to lockdown restrictions, Parkwood has not had a play day for two years.

"If the event is as enjoyable as it has been to plan, it will be a great day!

"We hope to make it bigger and better every year."

The play day, the sixth to be held, is funded by Keighley Big Local.

"The event is also an opportunity to celebrate the success of Keighley Big Local," says Shaun O'Hare, for the organisation.

"It will give people the chance to apply new skills they have picked up with Big Local funded training and is an opportunity for residents from throughout the area to come together."

Other activities organised by the community group have included picnics, bootcamps and football coaching.
