SPECIAL therapy lights for Airedale Hospital's intensive care unit will be provided thanks to a £1,500 donation.

The money is from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.

Funds were donated to Airedale Hospital & Community Charity after the cause was nominated by staff at the building society's Keighley and Skipton branches.

Fiona Doyle, for Yorkshire Building Society, said: "We are proud to be able to support Airedale Hospital & Community Charity with this donation. The work it is doing to support patients is providing a real benefit to their lives."

Thanks were expressed by Jodie Hearnshaw, the charity's manager.

She added: "We are extremely grateful for this donation, which will help our intensive care unit team provide the best care to our patients."

The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference scheme, where members donate pennies from interest on their accounts.

Last year, 209 charities across the UK shared a £295,000 pot.
