A POPULAR annual challenge which raises funds for Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands is being held next month.

The Settle Loop Challenge takes runners, walkers and mountain bikers on a ten-mile circular route through the hills above the market town.

This year's event, the fourth, is on October 22.

Last year, £6,500 was coined in.

The 2022 challenge also includes the option of a new 3 Dales Marathon – a 26.2-mile route encompassing the Ribble, Aire and Wharfe dales.

Both events start and finish at North Ribblesdale rugby union club and have been organised by the Manorlands Settle Fundraising Group.

Long-time sponsor Castleberg Outdoors is once again backing the event, and it is joined this year by Arla Foods and All Terrain Cycles.

Kirsty Kilburn, a member of the Manorlands Settle Fundraising Group, said: "We are so excited to be holding the Settle Loop Challenge again and welcoming the brand new 3 Dales Marathon! For any of our previous entrants who are looking for more of a challenge, the marathon is sure to provide this."

Manorlands supports patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families at the hospice and in the community, across the area.
