MORE free-admission markets are being staged in Haworth to showcase the work of independent creatives.

The events are being held at the Old School Room, in Church Street.

Curator Haworth Creatives says a wide range of goods will be on offer.

The first market takes place on Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2, followed by an event over the weekend of November 12-13. Both will be open from 10am to 4pm.

"These are our fourth and fifth showcase events and everyone is welcome – including well-behaved dogs!" said a spokesperson.

"And we are very excited to be welcoming a handful of new talented members to our 'family'."

Debutants include Miss Hue Designs, which specialises in experimental jewellery – from earrings to key chains, necklaces and rings – made from polymer clay.

Another newcomer to the events is Pigg and Bell, which produces handmade macrame home decor and gifts.

Also appearing for the first time is Carapace Designs, offering bespoke handmade bags in an array of colours and styles; and Chisel Monkey, which produces wooden gifts, toys, ornaments and kitchenware using a vintage wood-turning lathe.

A number of popular regulars at the events are featuring once again.

Bronte Bitch is presenting its merchandise range inspired by the Brontes. The designs – together with quotes from the literary sisters’ classic works – feature on tote bags, greetings cards, T-shirts, tea towels and wall art.

Photographer and videographer Christian Jaemes, fresh from an appearance on Channel 4’s hit series Changing Rooms hosted by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, will showcase his photographs of Haworth and surrounding areas and will be selling his new Bronte Country calendars.

Haworth Mirrors will be selling a variety of its items – mirrors of all sizes from across the eras.

Jumble & Pearls will spotlight its accessories and unique clothing for men, women and children.

And Rosie The Riveter tote bags will be on sale.

The venue for the events – the Old School Room, located between Haworth Parish Church and the Parsonage Museum – is synonymous with the Brontes.

Opened in 1832, it was built by Rev Patrick Bronte and the whole family taught there.

The building is now managed by a small charity made-up of local people.
