KEIGHLEY-district good causes are amongst those to have benefited from a charity fund which has reached a milestone.
The Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation has now distributed over £9 million since it was established in 1999.
Recent beneficiaries have included Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands and the POPI Baby Bank in Keighley.
Most of the funds are raised by society members donating the pence from their annual interest, through the Small Change Big Difference scheme.
Joanne Briggs, manager at the society’s Keighley branch, says: "The Charitable Foundation gives fantastic support to many good causes and I’m delighted that some of those in communities on our doorstep have benefited over the years.
"It’s a real privilege to have seen the donations make a difference locally – and it’s thanks to the ongoing generosity of our members that we can continue to support the Charitable Foundation to give incredible amounts of money."
