PANTO is returning to Keighley's Victoria Hall – oh yes it is!

Keighley Musical Theatre Company's traditional offering will take centre stage once again after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.

And members are performing Jack and the Beanstalk, which was the company's debut pantomime back in 1965.

The production – which runs from January 28 to February 4, and includes three matinees – will herald the return of audience favourite Peter Whitley, in the role of Squire Grabbem.

He is also co-directing with Judith Chapman, in their tenth panto collaboration.

Musical director is Geoff Garrett.

"This traditional family pantomime promises to be full of spectacle and surprises as Jack climbs the beanstalk to meet Giant Grim," says a company spokesperson.

"If you are looking to brighten up the new year with side-splitting laughter, great music, fabulous costumes, amazing sets and spectacular effects, then look no further!"

Jack will be played by Harvey Dewhirst, who recently appeared as Pugsley in The Addams Family and previously starred as the Artful Dodger in Oliver!

Other cast members include Alice Chapman as principal girl Sue, Dean Harness as Dame Trot and James Windle as Jimmy Trot.

There will also be an ensemble and children's chorus, The Beanies.
