A GLOBAL sports turf research company based at Harden is doing its bit for good causes in the run-up to Christmas.

At the start of the month, STRI Group launched a reverse Advent calendar in support of Bingley Food Bank.

Employees are donating much-needed goods ranging from food products and festive treats to toiletries such as razors, deodorants and female hygiene items.

Colleagues also supported Christmas Jumper Day, in aid of Save the Children.

And the group is backing the Sue Ryder Winter Solstice Strider, a fundraising torchlight run which takes place around the St Ives estate – home to the company's headquarters – on Wednesday, December 21. People can still register for the event, at sueryder.org/support-us/fundraise/events/winter-solstice-strider-2022.

Tina Jessop, head of brand at STRI Group, said: "After an extremely busy year, it’s great to be able to pull together and do some activities to help others. We’ve had a fantastic response to our food bank appeal and are continuing to collect items for a few weeks.

"We have supported Sue Ryder for a number of years and it’s a charity close to the hearts of many in the team, so we’re looking forward to a good turnout for the run."
