MUSICIAN Sarah Schofield stepped in when a choir's musical director was struck down by Covid-19.
She led the Oxnop Singers as they gave a carol concert in Main Street, Haworth, and then the following day when members of the 40-strong choir made a now-traditional festive appearance at the Bay Horse in Oxenhope.
"Christmas shoppers and tourists enjoyed the songs and spectacle on Haworth Main Street in suitably seasonal weather!" said a choir spokesperson.
"And people responded to our invitation to donate to the Salvation Army's Christmas appeal.
"The wintry weather meant that any over-the-top Christmas jumpers were hidden underneath coats, but silly seasonal hats were still on display!"
In total across the two events, over £200 was raised for the Salvation Army appeal.
The choir welcomes new members, men and women.
Rehearsal sessions take place at Oxenhope Community Centre every Monday, between 7.30pm and 9pm.
