ANOTHER community gala is under threat due to a lack of volunteers.

Riddlesden Gala is the latest event set to fold unless more helpers come forward.

Organisers say that at least three more committee members are needed to keep the popular gala running.

"We have had a couple of resignations due to work commitments meaning the current committee cannot deliver the event on its own," said a spokesperson.

"Committee members are involved in the planning of the gala from start to finish. We have helpers on the day, which we are grateful for, however it is the planning where we have a shortfall."

Anyone interested in joining the committee is asked to go along to the next meeting, at the Marquis of Granby pub in Riddlesden on Tuesday, February 28, at 6.30pm.

"This will be our final meeting unless a few people step forward – please come along and save Riddlesden Gala," added the spokesperson.

Last month, organisers of Silsden Gala revealed that event was facing an uncertain future owing to a shortage of volunteers.

But following a public appeal by the committee, 18 new members attended the gala annual general meeting – taking the total team to over 20.
