THREE Worth Valley causes are to receive a cash boost from the Co-op.

Oakworth Rainbows, Brownies and Guides; the village's Methodist Church pantomime team and Worth Valley Explorer Scouts have been chosen to benefit from the retailer's Local Community Fund.

Through the scheme, money is donated to selected good causes when Co-op members buy certain own-brand products and services.

Since 2016, £117 million has been raised across the UK, with over 30,000 projects benefitting.

Rebecca Birkbeck, for the Co-op, says: "We know the cost-of-living crisis is making things incredibly challenging for many local causes. Our fund promotes the development of stronger, more resilient and fairer communities. Our community groups are providing valuable services and support to people at a time when they need it most."
