A CONSULTATION has been launched over a village parking scheme.

Steeton-with-Eastburn Parish Council wants to hear people's views.

Bradford Council introduced a parking permit scheme in October, 2021, designed to stop Airedale Hospital workers and visitors from parking in residential areas.

Now the parish council has commissioned an independent survey after receiving an "unprecedented" volume of feedback about the initiative.

A Steeton-with-Eastburn Parish Council spokesperson said: "The objective of the consultation is to gather detailed information and facts as evidence to put to Bradford Council. We should emphasise that this is not a vote or referendum.

"Whether you are for, against or neutral about the parking scheme, the survey is open to residents and anyone else with an interest in parking in the villages of Steeton and Eastburn – relatives, friends, carers, business people and service providers coming into the villages to work, hospital staff, patients and their visitors.

"Even if people have sent in views previously, they are still being encouraged to take the time to participate."

Anyone unable to complete the survey online should call 07841 633230 for details of alternative ways to participate.

The consultation closes at 11pm on Wednesday, March 22.
