COMMUNITY-spirited volunteers across Keighley and the Worth Valley are being sought to take part in an annual 'spring clean'.

The Great Bradford Clean Up takes place between Friday, March 17, and Sunday, April 2.

Activities will be held across each of the district's five constituency areas, including Keighley.

Members of the public are being urged to organise clean ups and litter picks targeting a range of public spaces, including streets, parks, alleyways, open areas and roadsides.

The initiative is being spearheaded by Bradford Council, which will supply tabards, litter pickers, gloves and bin bags and provide a bag collection service.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, the council's portfolio holder for healthy people and places, said: "This annual spring clean provides a great boost for our neighbourhoods. It both makes places look attractive and tidy, and also brings people together doing something really positive and worthwhile.

"It also helps ensure that the district is ready for the sunnier weather and attractive to visitors from near and far.

"I hope people will support us by getting involved."
