SCHOOLS across the Keighley district celebrated World Book Day.
A wide range of activities was held.
Some pupils dressed as their favourite book characters, and others enjoyed special storytelling sessions.
At Steeton Primary School, there was a Dr Seuss theme.
Children could choose books beneath a balloon arch or between truffle trees, and each book was wrapped in brown paper to provide a surprise for the pupils.
Teacher, Alice Buckley, said: "The atmosphere in the school was incredible and it really demonstrated just how much our children love reading for pleasure."
World Book Day was created by UNESCO in 1995 as a global celebration of books and reading, and began in the UK two years later. It is now marked in more than 100 countries.
