MORE than 20 Keighley-district schools have been fully or partially closed today (March 9) due to the weather – and some are warning that they will be reviewing the situation early tomorrow morning before deciding whether to extend the closures.
Beckfoot Oakbank was fully closed, and a planned performance this evening of Annie Jr was cancelled.
Also closed for the day were Stanbury Village School and Laycock Primary.
A number of schools took the decision to shut at lunchtime, to allow pupils and staff to get home as snow continued to fall. They included Beckfoot Phoenix, Beechcliffe, Crossflatts, Cullingworth, Denholme, Eastburn, East Morton, Haworth, Ingrow, Keighley St Andrew's, Long Lee, Merlin Top, Nessfield, Oxenhope, Parkwood, Riddlesden St Mary's, Silsden, Victoria, Wilsden and Worth Valley.
