ST George's Day is being celebrated in Keighley next month.

Free family activities will be on offer in the Airedale Shopping Centre on the day itself, Sunday, April 23.

The 11am to 4pm event, being organised by Keighley Town Council, will include face painting, balloon modelling, a Punch and Judy show, arts and crafts and stilt walkers.

Also, a children's colouring competition has been launched.

To enter, go to the St George's Day page on the town council website, at keighley.gov.uk/st-georges-day, and print off the competition shield. Then colour it in and drop it off at the civic centre, in North Street. The competition will be judged by Keighley town mayor, Councillor Luke Maunsell.

The winner will receive a gift card from The Works.

A colouring contest is also being held for schools.

Councillor Maunsell says: "I am delighted that these St George's Day celebrations are being held once again.

"I hope that people will turn out in large numbers to enjoy the festivities, especially considering the upcoming coronation, which hopefully will make the day all the more special."

Further activities are available to download from keighley.gov.uk.

And people can follow the town council via its Facebook pages for updates.
