A NATIONAL charity founded by a Silsden man has received the backing of the town's MP.
Stephen Normanton established PeerTalk to provide volunteer-led peer support groups for people living with depression, anxiety and other emotional distress.
He has met with MP Robbie Moore in Parliament to talk about the work of the organisation and how the Government may be able to help with its growth.
Mr Normanton's vision is to have a support group in every constituency of the UK.
"It was a pleasure to host Stephen in Parliament to learn more about this fantastic charity and explore ways in which the Government could help PeerTalk grow," said Mr Moore.
"Providing people across Keighley and indeed the entire United Kingdom with access to a range of tailored support for mental health issues like depression and anxiety is paramount. I look forward to working with Stephen to help his charity expand."
