DAVID Metcalfe certainly knows his onions.
And he will be sharing that knowledge with an audience at Glusburn next week.
Mr Metcalfe is guest speaker at the next meeting of Glusburn & Cross Hills Gardening Society.
Growing Onions for Exhibition – from Seed to Show Bench, takes place at the village's community and arts centre, in Colne Road, on Friday, April 21, at 7.30pm.
Mr Metcalfe is former chair of the National Vegetable Society's northern branch, and is a renowned champion onion and leek grower and breeder.
"The meeting is open to everyone – we look forward to seeing people there," says Derek Blackwell, for the society.
Admission is £3 for members, and £4 for non-members.
