PEOPLE from the Keighley district interested in a teaching career are being encouraged to attend a regional event this month.

Get Into Teaching Yorkshire & the Humber takes place at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on Tuesday, April 25, from 5pm to 8pm.

Anyone considering becoming a teacher, from young people starting out in work to those looking at a potential change of job, is invited to go along.

A wide range of free information and advice will be available.

There will be opportunities to meet current teachers from schools in the region and talk to expert advisors.

And there will be hourly presentations focusing on the teacher training process and how to apply.

The event is one of several being staged across the country this spring by Get Into Teaching.

Spokesperson, Roger Pope, says: "This event is a fantastic opportunity to explore everything you need to know about a career that really does change lives and allows you to make your mark on the world.

"Anyone searching for a career that provides stability and progression opportunities can go along to find out more."

Registration in advance is advisable, at getintoteaching.education.gov.uk/events/230425-get-into-teaching-yorkshire-and-the-humber, but people can turn up on the day.
