A COMPANY has covered the running costs of a hospice for 24 hours.

Environmental consultancy Beyondly donated £13,000 to Manorlands, at Oxenhope.

The funds paid for a day's care provision at the Sue Ryder hospice.

Manorlands is home to a team of nurses, doctors, and physio, occupational and complementary therapists, as well as family support workers, who combine specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with emotional, practical and spiritual help.

Over the past year, the hospice has provided care to hundreds of people across Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven and parts of Bradford, who are living with a life-limiting condition, as well as supporting their family members and friends.

Sarah Bottomley, service director at Manorlands, pays tribute to Beyondly and other businesses and individuals for their support.

She says: "Our dedicated healthcare teams provide specialist palliative care for people living with a life-limiting condition, both at the hospice and in their own homes, but we couldn’t help all the people who need us without the support of businesses and individuals in our local community generously donating and fundraising for us.

"Currently the Government only provides one-third of the funding that hospices like ours need and Sue Ryder, like the rest of the sector, must rely on fundraising activities and voluntary donations. That is why the incredibly kind gift from Beyondly means so very much to us. Thank you."

Beyondly, formerly known as Comply Direct, has been supporting Manorlands for a decade.

Its managing director, Jessica Aldersley, says: "In line with our company's purpose, vision and values, we are committed to positively impacting society and the environment through a Fund for Change programme.

"We commit to making available five per cent of our net profit in each financial year. As part of this, we are thrilled to help a charity so close to our hearts at Beyondly, funding all aspects needed for one day of care at Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice.

"As one of our chosen charities, we have supported and fundraised for Manorlands since 2013.

"We are delighted to continue this support through our Fund for Change scheme and we have much gratitude for all the wonderful people at the hospice who do incredible work every day."
