AN Oxenhope-based choir is staging its spring concert at the village community centre.

It will be the first time the Oxnop Singers have performed at the venue since 2019.

The event takes place on Sunday, May 14, at 7pm.

The varied programme will include classics from the Beatles, the Kinks, Elvis Presley, Billy Joel and Carly Simon, plus a sea shanty, a song from musical theatre and The Skye Boat Song.

Helen McClorry, Oxnop Singers' musical director, says: "We are delighted to be back performing at Oxenhope Community Centre, where we've enjoyed so many great concerts. This will be our first full performance after the pandemic!

"We look forward to be singing for the people of the Worth Valley and beyond, welcoming back all our friends who have supported us for so many years.

"And if anyone would like to join the Oxnop Singers, please come along to our rehearsals, which take place between 7.30pm and 9pm every Monday. We're particularly keen to hear from any men who can sing as tenors."

Tickets for the concert are £5.
