A COMMUNITY herb and vegetable area is being created.
Oxenhope Climate Action Group is behind the initiative.
Volunteers have constructed a raised bed at the village's rose garden site and planted it up with herbs for use by the community, plus some pollinator-friendly shrubs.
And a border area has been prepared ready to add vegetables.
The venture follows successful tree and 'footpath orchard' planting schemes by the group.
A spokesperson says: "The purpose of these projects is to offset carbon while at the same time providing habitat and food for wildlife and, in this latest case, to suggest alternatives to the food miles often involved in food production.
"We're grateful to Oxenhope Village Council for use of space in the rose garden and for funding materials and plants. We would also like to thank local forest school Within the Wood for its support."
