A SPITFIRE and a Hurricane are due to perform a flypast at Harden Children's Gala on Saturday (June 17).

The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is scheduled for just after 2.30pm.

Other attractions at the gala – which takes place at the Memorial Hall Park field between 2pm and 5pm – will include stalls, games, a roundabout, bouncy slides, the New Orleans Jazz Band, a tea tent, Diddy Dennis the fire engine and children's races.

It will be preceded by a parade, at 1.30pm.

This year's Gala Queen is Heidi Brent, and there is a first-ever King, Henry Lockwood. Attendants will be Maria Ahmed and Ollie Withers.

The gala is celebrating its 50th year and to mark the milestone, previous queens and attendants will also be present.

Admission will be free, but people are encouraged to buy a programme to help support the gala financially.
