CRITICALLY-acclaimed British-Kurdish author Choman Hardi will be in Haworth next month to read from – and sign copies of – her new novel.
She is at Wave of Nostalgia bookshop, in Main Street, on Wednesday, July 5, at 7pm.
Choman draws on real-life events for Whispering Walls, which documents a Kurdish family’s struggles during the 2003 US invasion of Iraq.
Wave of Nostalgia owner, Diane Park, says: "The invasion was a frightening time and it will be incredible to hear more about Choman’s story, especially as her family was directly involved in such a terrifying episode in history. I’m also delighted that an inspiring poet, Clare Shaw, will introduce Choman."
Tickets for the event cost £5 and are available from the shop or at waveofnostalgia.co.uk/event-tickets.
