A MAKERS' market showcasing independent creatives returns to Haworth next month.

Small businesses from the area and other parts of Yorkshire will be spotlighting and selling their wares.

The free-admission event takes place at the newly-refurbished Old School Room, in Church Street, on Saturday, August 12, and Sunday, August 13, between 10am and 4pm.

A spokesperson for the curator, Haworth & Yorkshire Creatives, says: "We are thrilled to be back at the refurbished, historic venue after a short break, alongside so many talented makers from across the district.

"The event spotlights artisan makers. We urge people to support their independents – shop local, and visit their online shops."

Participants at the latest market will include some regular attendees, plus several newcomers.

The Old School Room, between the parish church and parsonage, is synonymous with the Brontes.

Opened in 1832, it was built by Patrick Bronte and the whole family taught there.
