A KEIGHLEY College student has realised a lifelong ambition to take part in the Special Olympics.
Dylan Lightowler earned a silver medal in the shot put, and medals for 100m and 200m races, at the event in Suffolk.
And his success continued at the National Junior Championships, where he collected two gold medals, throwing a shot put personal best and winning the 200m.
Dylan, whose passion for the sports developed after he joined Bradford, Keighley and Skipton Disability Athletics Club in 2017, is now aiming for the Paralympics.
His mum, Val, says: "I’m incredibly proud of Dylan’s achievements, which are entirely a reflection of his hard work and dedication."
Dylan is currently completing a Foundation Studies course at Keighley College.
Programme manager, Ali Dobson, says: "Not only does Dylan attend college full-time, but alongside his athletics he still finds time to volunteer. He relishes every opportunity that comes his way."
