PEOPLE are being given the chance to try their hand at bowling.

Sessions are taking place during August and September at the bowling green in Haworth's Central Park.

Bowls4FUN and Bowls4HEALTH programmes are being staged.

Fun bowls for the whole family are on offer at the Bowls4FUN sessions, which are on Thursdays, from August 3, between 11am and noon.

A spokesperson says: "This is a great opportunity for children, parents/carers and grandparents to enjoy bowls together and see just how much fun it can be.

"All equipment plus refreshments are included, and advice and tuition is available."

Bowls4Health also starts on August 3, between noon and 2pm. As well as giving people the chance to learn to play, it aims to help participants improve their physical and mental wellbeing and meet others in the community.

The spokesperson says: "If you’d like to learn a new skill and get physically active in a friendly and relaxed environment, while meeting people from the community, then this is the perfect opportunity!

"Sessions are suitable for beginners or those who have bowled previously."
