YORKSHIRE Air Ambulance, which frequently goes to the aid of casualties across the Keighley area, has received a boost.

The charity has been awarded £19,000 by Sovereign Health Care.

Since 2001, over £450,000 has now been donated to the cause by the not-for-profit health cash plan provider as part of its community programme.

Russ Piper, Sovereign Health Care chief executive, says: "We are immensely proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Yorkshire Air Ambulance and to support its invaluable work saving lives across the region.

"As we celebrate our 150th anniversary, this donation exemplifies our ongoing commitment to community-based health initiatives. Our not-for-profit status empowers us to make a meaningful impact, and we are dedicated to giving back between five and ten per cent of our annual turnover to support projects that focus on health and wellbeing.

"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and all the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to make a difference in the community."

Marianne Haworth, for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said the charity, which relies on public donations, was "extremely thankful" for the support.

"The donation is testament to Sovereign Health Care's commitment to our mission of saving lives across Yorkshire," she added.
