A HAWORTH author has raised over £10,000 for mental health charity Leeds Mind through sales of his latest book.

Edward Evans is donating £1 from every copy sold of The Foundry Man’s Apprentice to the cause.

The book, his tenth, was published in 2018.

Mr Evans says: "I wanted to give something back to a local charity, particularly one that supports young people’s mental health.

"The families in my novel endure the harsh conditions of the Victorian industrial age, so whilst writing I spent a lot of time thinking about how children deal with hardship and trauma."

Gemma Green, community fundraiser for Leeds Mind, thanks the author.

She says: "We are so grateful to Edward for choosing to support us.

"The book has raised an incredible amount of money and will help us to continue providing our vital services."

The Foundry Man’s Apprentice can be bought, priced £12.95, from edward-evans.com/books/the-foundry-mans-apprentice.
